The Core

The onsite building called the "core" plays a crucial role in the functioning of the refuge. It is situated in the center of the site and serves as the central hub for the support staff members who are present 24/7. In addition to office space, the core also houses rooms for outreach services and local providers, enabling them to provide specialised supports directly onsite.

One of the key features of the core is a conference room specifically designed for case conferencing and remote court appearances. Equipped with a large state-of-the-art video conferring screen, this room promotes effective communication and collaboration.

Additionally, the core offers a wide range of resources, including brochures, posters, and books dedicated to the topic of domestic violence. These materials provide valuable guidance and support to individuals and families affected by this issue.

Furthermore, the core includes a play area specifically designed for children to engage in play while their mothers are consulting with staff. This inclusive environment encourages the well-being of both the children and their families.

If you are experiencing domestic violence, call 1800RESPECT (1800737732). If you are in immediate danger, call the police on 000
